Tyler Edward William Penill and Bryan Thomas Barker have been arrested and charged.

Two alleged thieves have been arrested after brazen break-ins in Abbotsford.

An investigation was launched in June by the Abbotsford Police Department following a series of residential break-ins during daytime hours.

"These occurrences were of great concern to police due to the heightened risk of the homeowners being present during the offence, in some cases interrupting the suspects before they fled,” sayd Const. Art Stele.

Police were able to identify two individuals after reviewing surveillance footage.

Tyler Edward William Penill and Bryan Thomas Barker have been arrested and charged.

Penill faces 14 counts of break and enter and one count of fraud. Barker faces three counts of break and enter, one count of possession of stolen property and one count of fraud.

Crime Reduction Unit Sgt. Cory Johansen says police recognize the personal impact break-ins have on victims.

"We are hoping the arrest of these two prolific offenders can bring some justice and closure to those impacted by their crimes,” said Johansen.

Some of the offences date as far back as January 2023, according to police.
