Charles Rose was grocery shopping when he remembered to check his lottery ticket. He didn't expect what would come next.
Rose, who bought his ticket and validated it at the Save-On-Foods on Columbia Street in New West, was shocked when $500,000 popped up on the ticket scanner.
"I checked my ticket and the retailer freaked out", Rose said in a BCLC news release.
He was most excited to tell his children of his win from the Jan. 2 Daily Grand draw.
"This will make things easier," Rose added.
With his winnings, the New Westminster resident plans to take a train trip across Canada.
