Environment Canada is calling for a couple of days of rain followed by several days of sunshine this week, which would end a long wet spell in the region.

If you are sick of the dreary, cold weather, you are far from alone.

But it appears Metro Vancouverites have a sunny change of pace to look forward to this week.

Environment Canada is calling for a couple of days of rain followed by several days of sunshine this week, which would end a long wet spell in the region.

Starting on Tuesday (Mar.1), locals should expect periods of rain during the day followed by showers at night. Temperatures are expected to be warm, however, hitting a double-digit high of 12°C and a mild overnight low of 7°C. Wednesday is also forecasted to see showers throughout the day with similar temperatures.

Thursday's forecast includes a chance of showers during the day but skies are expected to clear overnight. Starting on Friday, locals should expect to see bright sunshine with a high of 9°C and an overnight low of 3°C.

The weekend is expected to see sunshine and double-digit highs on both Saturday and Sunday, although evening lows will be substantially lower, dropping to 3°C and 2°C, respectively.

For now, Monday's forecast also includes dry weather, with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 10°C.
