Alan Sevillo, from Surrey, just won $2 million on the Lotto BC 49.

Alan Sevillo's lotto win was so dramatic the clerk at the lotto kiosk checked the ticket and then hugged him.

"I scanned this [BC/49] ticket and saw all the zeroes. I showed the person working [at the lotto kiosk], he double checked and hugged me,” says Sevillo, a resident of Surrey and B.C.'s newest millionaire.

It had started out as a normal trip to the mall; his daughter needed something and he had some tickets from the June 5 lottery draws.

At first his wife didn't believe the win was real, but when she saw the hug, she believed.

Now they're deciding how to spend the money.

"It will be a big help for my family’s future!”

Two things are already planned: a trip to Disneyland with his daughter, and a second family car.

“My wife and I share a car and it can be challenging with our daughter’s school schedule," says Sevillo. "Another car will make our days simpler.”

The winning ticket was bought at a London Drugs in Langley on 66th Avenue.
