B.C.'s homicide team investigating woman's death in Surrey

Police say the woman had life-threatening injuries and died in the hospital.

Homicide investigators are trying to determine how a woman died at a home in Surrey.

Surrey RCMP were called to a Port Kells residence on Sunday at 10 p.m. for a woman suffering life-threatening injuries.

Officers and the Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Service attended the residence near the 9800-block of 182A Street and arrested a man in the area.

Police say the woman was transported to the hospital where she died.

Cpl. James Mason says the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called in and will work in partnership with Surrey RCMP.

"Police are currently in the evidence-gathering phase,” says Mason.

No further details about the woman or the man are being released, including if they were known to each other.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or email [email protected].
