A man accused of shooting a pedestrian has appeared in Vancouver Provincial Court after a man was shot in the face in the city's downtown.
Justin Delaney Littlewolfe, 32, has been charged with one count of discharging a firearm and one count of aggravated assault in connection with the shooting at Homer and West Pender streets.
He appeared briefly via video before Judge John Milne on April 22. His case was adjourned to April 29.
The Vancouver Police Department said officers responded to reports of shots fired around 7:50 p.m. on April 3, and found a 46-year-old man suffering serious injuries.
The victim was treated at hospital and is now recovering, police said.
The shooting suspect fled as police were responding, but was later identified and taken into custody on April 12.
Police believe the victim was a bystander and not the intended target of the shooting.
Shelby Reed, a lawyer articling student for defence counsel Chantelle Sutton, said a bail plan was being put in place.
Littlewolfe remains in custody.
