Bowen Islanders have made a special effort this year to light up their homes and their neighbourhoods.
Light Up Bowen organizer, head decorator and chief Christmas lights expert Basia Lieske has compiled a map of displays around the island.
Of pariticular note, Yvonne McSkimming has once again outdone herself at the Little Red Church with a display of more than 60,000 lights. (That's also a fundraiser for the food bank – one can make an in-person donation at the Santa box at the entrance to the churchyard or e-transfer [email protected]).
And a little elf tells us that Scarborough's light displays are particularly stunning. But don't take our word for it. Order some take-out from a local restaurant for a treat, hop in your car and see Bowen's holiday spirit all lit up.
