Bowfest, our end of summer celebration is on Saturday, August 27 from 2 pm to 8 pm when the Bowfest field will be filled with rides and attractions for the kids, live music, delicious food, and a site-wide beer garden. The Parade will kick off the Bowfest fun. Watch for details about voting for this year’s theme and how to enter the parade.
The committee is busy planning another fun and memorable celebration. Tammy Brockmeyer and Joan Vyner are returning committee members and welcome new members: Astrid Waalwijk, Sophie Middleton and Jess Onqa who are all new to Bowen Island.
Many thanks to our past committee members Sheana Stevenson, Barry Pynn, Courtney Morris, Tony Beck, and Robyn Fenton who organized Bowfest over the last several years.
Organizing this end of summer celebration takes several keen and dedicated volunteers. There is still time to join the organizing committee or to take on a volunteer role during Bowfest. Volunteers with “Serving It Right” are needed as well as gate hosts, ticket sellers, social media coordinator, and more.
Bowen Island businesses are generous sponsors and a key part of the success of Bowfest. Astrid Waalwijk is managing sponsorship opportunities and please say yes when she calls!
