Suzanne Saatchi, Executive Director of the Bowen Island Community Health Centre, is leaving the position after nearly four years at the helm.
The Bowen Island Health Centre Foundation (BIHCF), which operates the Health Centre and raises funds to support its programs and services, announced Suzanne’s departure, as well as the search for a new director, this week.
Suzanne joined the Health Centre in June 2021 when it was in start-up mode. As Executive Director, she handled planning, contracts, building logistics and critical operations implementation in the lead up to its opening in spring 2024.
“During her time here, Suzanne has shared with us her deep experience in bringing complex healthcare projects to life,” said Cheryl Shkurhan, BIHCF President. “She worked tirelessly to secure our Ministry of Health funding, negotiate our agreement with Vancouver Coastal Health, build a team, and get the clinic up and running. These are such significant achievements, and we cannot thank Suzanne enough for her work to bring expanded healthcare close to home on Bowen Island.”
With plans to fill the role this spring, the Foundation has launched a search for its new Executive Director to lead the Health Centre through its next phase as it expands and grows with the community.
