Vancouver Coastal Health is keeping the clinics coming on Bowen.
The health authority has listed another on-island clinic date on its website: June 19 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m at Bowen Island Community School.
This will be the third on-island clinic date in the span of a month after more than a month's gap before that.
Everyone 12 and older is eligible to book their first vaccine appointment. Invitations to book appointments for second doses (at least eight weeks after the first dose) are ongoing. The province is highly encouraging everyone to ensure they're registered online.
The next clinic date is June 5.
75 per cent of islanders over 12 have had at least vaccine one dose
The BC CDC releases the previous week’s COVID-19 case rates and vaccination numbers by community health service area (for Bowen, that’s the 5,000-odd people of Bowen Island-Lions Bay) every Wednesday.
Here are the numbers as of May 31:
- Islanders 12 and older who have had at least one dose of a vaccine: 75 per cent
- Islanders 18 and older who have had at least one dose of a vaccine: 79 per cent (up from 70 last week)
- Islanders 50 and over who have had at least one dose of a vaccine: 86 per cent (up from 84 last week)
- For the third week running, ending May 31, the case rate and test positivity rate was zero.
Correction: Earlier data showed that the Bowen test positivity was two per cent – the BCCDC data has since changed to show a zero test positivity rate. (Which aligns with a zero case rate)
