Witnesses are asked to contact police.

Police arrested two people in connection to an alleged attempted abduction where officers say the individuals knew each other.

On Sept. 4, just after 9 a.m., Chilliwack RCMP were notified about an “attempted abduction” in progress on Elk View Road.

Witnesses told police they saw a fight between two men and a woman. One man was allegedly trying to force the other man inside the trunk of a vehicle.

Police say the victim was able to flee and escape on foot.

Sgt. Krista Vrolyk says the incident was not random.

"It is important to note that this was a targeted incident and that the parties involved were known to one another,” says Vrolyk.

Mounties were able to locate the individuals and arrested a 29-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man in connection to the incident.

It’s not clear how old the man was that was the alleged subject of the incident.

“The 911 calls received from witnesses and the video footage they provided of the incident were key to this investigation,” says Vrolyk.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information or who saw what happened is asked to contact Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611.
