The Sagueneens (15-4-6) held a 3-2 lead heading into the third period, but Alexandre Blais scored for the Oceanic early in the final frame to force extra time.

Mathieu Cataford also scored and Océanic goaltender William Lacelle stopped 17 shots.

Emmanuel Vermette scored twice and Felix Gagnon once for Chicoutimi. Sagueneens goalie Raphael Precourt made 42 saves.
